Thats just my take on him. Mainly because he killed so many buffalo just to say that he did. Not because he wanted the meat. In fact many people like him, killed the buffalo then took the hides and let the meat lay there and rot. But he did have a dream of letting people around the world experience what the wild west was like and he followed through with it.

I see..my understanding of that era was that in general going around killing creatures just for"fun"was commonplace,especially amongst the royalty of Europe..I have read of royal"hunts"where hundreds of animals were killed just so that this prince or that duke could have bragging rights..it was a deplorable practice no matter who did it,or which side of the ocean it was done on,but it seems to me that the upper crust and the celebrities,and the rich on both sides of the water did it...

I agree, you would think that we are all more civilized now. But stuff like that still happens. Caged hunts are barbaric and legal in most states. And over the past few days I have seen enough dead animal stock photos to last a life time. Including a cat fur! Very disappointing.
